After completing her education at Dongnae High School, she moved to Hawaii in 1956 to pursue a degree in Political Science. While in Hawaii, her stunning looks caught the attention of talent scouts, leading her to win a beauty pageant and subsequently sign a contract with 20th Century-Fox.
